Base year 2010=100 and 2005=100 M-index is total index without concrete structures, K-index is index for rock structures, S-index is index for concrete structures, H-index is index for management and maintenance. Base year 2000=100, 1995=100 and 1990=100 M-index is total index without bridge building work, K-index is index for rock construction work, S-index is index for bridge building work and H-index is index for management and maintenance.

Base year

Base year refers to the base point in time of a time series. Normally, years divisible evenly by five are used as base years. In releases base year is noted, for example, as 2000 = 100 or 2005 = 100. The mean of the index point figures of a base year is 100. For example, in monthly indices the the index point figures of the months of the base year disclose the distribution of an examined variable between different months.

Data

Point figure

Point figure is a change quantity used in price indices, which expresses the price, average price or index of the comparison period relative to the price, average price or index of the base period. The point figure of the base period is usually denoted by the number hundred. For example, if the point figure for a commodity at a certain point in time is 105.3, it means that the price of that commodity has risen by 5.3 per cent from the base period.
