Corrected 25.6.2025. The average interest rate of new business loans published by the Bank of Finland is used for interest rate monitoring. The average interest rate used to produce the cost index of civil engineering works for March was erroneous. As a result of the correction, the annual change in the total index for March 2025 was revised upwards by 0.4 percentage points (was -0.1%). The correction has an effect on the following cost factors of the total index: own machinery, interests and insurances. The correction also had an effect on the monthly changes in April 2025.

Point figure is a change quantity used in price indices, which expresses the price, average price or index of the comparison period relative to the price, average price or index of the base period. The point figure of the base period is usually denoted by the number hundred. For example, if the point figure for a commodity at a certain point in time is 105.3, it means that the price of that commodity has risen by 5.3 per cent from the base period.
