Statistical unit: person (dwelling population).
Income concept: Household-dwelling unit's disposable monetary income (incl. sales profits) per consumption unit.
Consumption unit scale: Eurostat's equivalence scale (1.0 - 0.5 - 0.3). Due to revisions to income concepts the figures for 1995 to 2009 and 2010 onwards are not fully comparable with each other.
Due to rounding the shares do not always sum up to 100.

Main income source of household-dwelling unit

The main source of income for a household is from wages, entrepreneurial income, property income, and transfers, which is the type of income from which the members of the household collectively received the most income during the year. It does not describe the activity of the person or household. If the main source of income was transfers, the source of income has been further specified according to the ESSPROS classification and within it, according to administrative concepts. If the main source of income was housing allowance or income support, the household has been classified according to the second largest source of income.
