Documentation of statistics Data do not include data on Åland. The share of children aged 1 to 6 (children aged 1 to 6/population aged 1 to 6) is used for the participation rate in early childhood education and care. The Total figure is calculated for those aged 0 to 7 (all children/population aged 0 to 7). The number of children may differ slightly from other tables if the number of children having participated in early childhood education and care in the municipality is higher in the age group than the age group belonging to the population of the municipality. A child can participate in early childhood education and care in a different municipality to the one where they live. Foreign-language speaking refers to a person whose native language is other than Finnish, Swedish or Sami.
Foreigners refer to persons whose nationality is other than Finnish.

Area

Area is the municipality of the main ECEC place according to the latest statistical years classification.
