Main type of activity

Completers of qualifications, total

Completers of qualifications in the year preceding the statistical reference year in total by the highest qualification in the statistical reference year.

Full-time employed persons

Full-time employed persons include those who had a valid employment relationship in the last week of the year and were not registered as unemployed jobseekers at the employment offices, did not attend education leading to a qualification or perform military or non-military service. Employment relationships of less than one month in duration are also included. Data on employment are based on the information of the employees’ pension authorities and the tax administration.

Employed students

Employed students attended education leading to a qualification or degree on 20 September and they had a valid employment relationship in the last week of the statistical reference year.

Full-time students

Students include students registered in upper secondary general education, polytechnic education and university education leading to a qualification or degree. Students also comprise persons who have received student financial aid in the autumn term according to the Social Insurance Institution s register of financial aid for students or were in labour market training in the last week of the year according to the jobseeker register of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.

Unemployed

Unemployed are persons who were unemployed in the last week of the year according to the jobseeker register of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. Unemployed persons were deduced before employed persons.

Others

The group mainly includes those in military and non-military service, as well as pensioners and home-makers.
