The figures for R&D personnel in the business enterprises sector have been corrected concerning the year 2017
The class 'other education' includes missing education data for the HE sector. The data of the university sector for 1973 and 1977 are estimates.
The data for the public + PNP sectors, the university sector and the combined R&D expenditure and staff-year data of all sectors for 1985 are estimates.
The university sector includes university central hospitals starting from 1997 and universities of applied sciences from 1999.
The public sector includes municipalities from 2007 onwards.
The statistical method of the university sector was renewed in 2011.
Universities' time use coefficients have been updated in 2014.
