Standard Industrial Classification TOL 2008 in use from 2008 onwards (Statistics Finland's Handbooks, 4). Source of funding: the group's foreign units were specified again starting from 2005,
in 1999 to 2004 was included under domestic enterprises as own funding. The change increases the share of foreign funding.
The data of the university sector for 1973 and 1977 are estimates.
The data for the public + PNP sector, the university sector and the combined data of all sectors for 1985 are estimates.
The university sector includes university central hospitals from 1997 and polytechnics from 1999 onwards.
The public sector includes municipalities from 2007 onwards.
The statistical method of the university sector was renewed in 2011. Universities' time use coefficients have been updated in 2014.
