Capital compensation is calculated as the difference of value added and labor compensation. Labor compensation is compensation received by labor for the amount of work done. It includes the compensation of employees and the income of self- employed. The net rate of return refers to the cost of capital, i.e. internal interest. It is part of the user cost of capital goods. It can be calculated as a residual when capital compensations, capital gains/losses caused by price changes and the consumption rate of capital are known.
