In 1998-2004 according to the international guideline by WHO the alcohol-related disease (alcoholism or alcoholic liver disease)
was preferred to the alcohol poisoning as the underlying cause of death in the statistics. This rule is not valid since 2005.
Deaths accompanied by alcohol intoxication from accidents or violence (excl. poisonings):
Alcohol intoxication indicates here that the certifier has mentioned alcohol intoxication as
a contributing cause on the death certificate. This group does not include poisonings (.).
