Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Emissions as carbon dioxide equivalent, negative figures are removals. In the inventory, the climate warming potential of different greenhouse gases is translated into a common measure, i.e. carbon dioxide equivalent, using Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors. The source used for the factors are IPCC Assessment Reports (AR). Emissions data according to the abbreviation AR5 have been calculated using factors in accordance with the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report (carbon dioxide 1, methane 28, nitrous oxide 265, F-gases 4 to 23,500).

Emission category

Based on the emission category according to the CRF classification that is used in the reporting of greenhouse gases to the UNFCCC and the EU.
Some clarifications related to emission categories by sector:
Energy: International transport (1D) is not included in total emissions but is reported in the inventory as a memo item.
Agriculture: Direct N2O-emissions from agricultural soils (3Da) include only N2O-emissions. Carbon stock changes, that is CO2-emissions or CO2-removals are reported in the land use, land use change and forestry sector (LULUCF).
Agriculture: Indirect N2O-emissions from agricultural soils (3Db) contain N2O-emissions from atmospheric deposition and nitrogen leaching and run-off originating from nitrogen inputs in the agriculture.
Land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF): Indirect N2O-emissions (4(iv)) contain N2O-emissions from nitrogen leaching originating from land-use change to cropland or grassland on mineral soils. Indirect N2O-emissions from atmospheric deposition and nitrogen leaching and run-off originating from nitrogen inputs to agricultural soils are reported in the agricultural sector under indirect N2O emissions from managed soils (3Db).

Greenhouse gas

Greenhouse gases reported in the greenhouse gas inventory are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) and fluorinated greenhouse gases or F-gases (HFC compounds (hydrofluorocarbons), PFC compounds (perfluorocarbons), sulphur hexafluoride SF6, and nitrogen trifluoride NF3).
